General Manager Vector Arena

A rare opportunity exists to take over the reins of this exciting venue and lead the next phase of its development. We seek an inspirational leader who is engaged with the pace and flexibility of the entertainment market.

The uncertainty of global recession has not stopped the growth and development of Vector Arena as a world class multi-purpose arena in the heart of Auckland City. Its full schedule of events during its first two years has been as diverse as it has been entertaining - From the Dalai Lama and International Netball, to Coldplay and Andrea Bocelli.

A rare opportunity exists to take over the reins of this exciting venue and lead the next phase of its development - with more live music, international artists of note and sporting, community and family events planned. We seek an inspirational leader who is engaged with the pace and flexibility of the entertainment market; someone who is able to show innovation in the approach to delivering exceptional experiences.

You are likely to come from the venue management or broader entertainment/service sector with a background in event management, marketing or commercial services; with exposure to contract management, sponsorship, PR/communications or project management. Alternative experience would include operational leadership in similar environments.

You will have strong commercial acumen and exceptional communication and presentation skills; with the ability to network, influence, negotiate and build trust. You'll also have a track record of sustainable relationship/alliance building and management with key stakeholders, including venue hirers, agents and commercial partners.

Your focus will be to translate strategy into operational reality for the executive team, giving New Zealanders an outstanding entertainment experience every time.
